Southern Oscillation

Ocean, Pattern, Across, Atmospheric, Sea‐surface, Wind, Accompanied, and Variations

A periodic reversal of the pattern of atmospheric pressure across the tropical parts of the Pacific Ocean during El Niño events, which occurs on average every 2.3 years, and is accompanied by variations in wind speed, ocean currents, sea‐surface temperatures, and precipitation in the surrounding areas.
