bull performance time held
Some of the most exciting and entertaining musical productions are held in Las Vegas. The city not only pulls in the best talent from all over the world, but it keeps them there for years on end for an exclusive experience that cannot be seen anywhere else.
Vegas is known for its bright lights, glitz, and flamboyant displays of style and glamour, so it is no wonder the city is such a perfect match for one of the most glitzy and flamboyant musicians – Sir Elton John.
Elton John has sold an estimated 250 million copies of over 30 albums in a career spanning more than 40 years. He is considered to be one of the most famous and talented musicians of all time. His other accomplishments include having more than 50 songs to make it in the top 40 and having 7 consecutive albums make it to number one on the U.S. charts. He holds almost every big-name award there is, including an Oscar, a Tony, a Golden Globe, and five Grammies.
The year was 2003 when Elton John agreed to a 75-show exclusive performance for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The show was titled The Red Piano, and it has since been known as the best show performed by Elton John in Las Vegas.
The Elton John Las Vegas show was held in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for the first time on February 13, 2004. The Red Piano is nothing less than a musical multimedia spectacular, featuring Elton John on a red piano playing 90 minutes of his best songs. Opening night and each performance afterward was jam-packed with an audience awed at the music and the visual presentations.
While Elton John plays, videos are rolling on a giant LED screen that evoke both the senses and the emotions. All of the scenes are emotionally moving and some depict light sexually-themed images and full nudity. Large blow-up props also entered the stage to bring in moments of whimsy and comedy. The Red Piano was watched in delighted disbelief by his fans and did much to convert new ones. No one can doubt the stage presence of this most extraordinary entertainer.
The Elton John Las Vegas show, The Red Piano was originally scheduled to play for 75 shows over the course of three years. Elton John was said to have loved the experience so much he extended the show several times. Sadly, all good things come to an end, and the last performance of The Red Piano, the 241st performance of Elton John in Las Vegas, was on April 22, 2009. Before departing, however, Elton John hinted to the press that he didn’t see himself being away from Las Vegas for long.
Soon after the last performance of The Red Piano, a recording of the show was produced and marketed on audio CD, DVD, and now Blu-ray. It can be purchased from music and video stores across the world and online. The song list includes the following hits and many more:
